1998

Mary-Ann and Geoff Nova bought the property that is now, Nova’s Ark Charity.

Operated 1^st Summer Camp, 1 week for 4 campers.

Nova’s Ark became a Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) registered charity (#85916 1176 RR0001).

Mary-Ann left her position with the school board to invest full-time in the development of Nova’s Ark.

Pilot project with Social Service Work program at Durham College; creation of the ‘Out of the Box’ program.

‘Out of the Box’ expanded to provide programming 5 days/week.

Addition of an interprofessional resource team; partnership with Durham College OTA/PTA program solidified.

Ongoing development of programs, accessibility, infrastructure and community partnerships.

Nova’s Ark became an essential service through the Durham Regional Health Department.

Nova's Ark became a Registered Forest School with the Child and Nature Alliance of Canada.

Began Ontario Autism Program (OAP) support.
