Our History

1998
Mary-Ann and Geoff Nova bought the property that is now, Nova’s Ark Charity.

2004
Operated 1^st Summer Camp, 1 week for 4 campers.

2005
Nova’s Ark became a registered Not-for-Profit Charity (#85916 1176 RR0001).

Spring 2011
Mary-Ann left her position with the school board to invest full-time in the development of Nova’s Ark.

Fall 2011
Pilot project with Social Service Work program at Durham College; creation of the ‘Out of the Box’ program.

2013
‘Out of the Box’ expanded to provide programming 5 days/week.

2017
Addition of an inter-professional resource team; partnership with Durham College OTA/PTA program solidified.

2019
Ongoing development of programs, accessibility, infrastructure and community partnerships.
