Keeley’s journey with Nova's Ark began in 2008 as a volunteer, and she quickly became an integral part of our organization’s programs and initiatives. Over the years, she has contributed significantly to summer programs, organized events, and spearheaded fundraising efforts, all of which have fueled her passion for supporting individuals and fostering an inclusive community.

Professionally, Keeley has built her career with the Durham District School Board, beginning as an Educational Assistant. Motivated by her experiences at Nova's Ark, she returned to school to earn her teaching degree and has since become a dedicated and compassionate educator. Her strong leadership skills are evident through her role in organizing initiatives such as a mental health fair, coaching sports teams, leading an intermediate leadership team, and serving as the Wellbeing Lead at her school. She has also pursued professional development in special education, further deepening her commitment to inclusion.

With a strong connection to the outdoors, Keeley believes in the value of nature as a vital tool for learning and growth for individuals of all abilities. Now, as a member of the Board of Directors, she is thrilled to bring her experience and enthusiasm to help support Nova's Ark into the future!

Unlike everywhere else I’ve been, at Nova’s Ark, I do not feel out of place. It gives me something that I feel like I can’t find anywhere else. I meet people that I otherwise wouldn’t meet and I feel like a lot of those who have helped me through my struggles I’ve met here.

Nova’s Ark is special to our whole family. When Daniel first started here, he could only speak one-word sentences. Now, he can talk your ear off and is very independent. Daniel being at Nova’s Ark takes a lot of pressure off of our family because we know he is safe, happy and learning. No matter the weather or if he is tired, Daniel doesn’t want to miss a day.

From the moment our son started attending Novas Ark, we felt such positivity, hope and inspiration. Everyone in the Nova’s Ark family has been so caring and accepting of our whole family. Nova’s Ark has gone above and beyond to help us on our family’s journey and we are beyond thankful. We are so lucky to have found such a supportive environment for our children and our family.
