Colin Sartain

Colin began his journey with us in September 2026. He is thrilled to join our team to continue working with individuals of various ages, abilities and backgrounds. Colin also values the expertise of different lenses from our interprofessional team. In the future, Colin aspires to become a teacher.

Colin is a graduate of Trent University, holding an Honours Bachelor of Science, double majoring in Forensic Science and Biology. Colin brings his background in science into his role here at Nova's Ark, as well as his experience working in various team environments, problem-solving, and communicating ideas.

As a mentor in our "Out of the Box" program, he works with our participants, supporting them through different activities and experiences. He focuses on what works best for that individual and what they enjoy to create the best day possible for each participant.

He is passionate about working at Nova's Ark because our participants are not all expected to learn in the same ways. Each person is treated as an individual and can learn at their own pace and in the way that works best for them.

Unlike everywhere else I’ve been, at Nova’s Ark, I do not feel out of place. It gives me something that I feel like I can’t find anywhere else. I meet people that I otherwise wouldn’t meet and I feel like a lot of those who have helped me through my struggles I’ve met here.

Nova’s Ark is special to our whole family. When Daniel first started here, he could only speak one-word sentences. Now, he can talk your ear off and is very independent. Daniel being at Nova’s Ark takes a lot of pressure off of our family because we know he is safe, happy and learning. No matter the weather or if he is tired, Daniel doesn’t want to miss a day.

From the moment our son started attending Novas Ark, we felt such positivity, hope and inspiration. Everyone in the Nova’s Ark family has been so caring and accepting of our whole family. Nova’s Ark has gone above and beyond to help us on our family’s journey and we are beyond thankful. We are so lucky to have found such a supportive environment for our children and our family.
